Learning Portfolio - Freshman Year

The first year at AMES is a big one.  Students are getting acclimated to high school, adjusting to the rigor and expectations of AMES, making new friends, studying new subjects, and learning to take risks.  Part of this process involves understanding the SWAGs and how they relate to the learning, growth and achievement of each individual at AMES, from students to faculty, to staff and administration.  We are all working to achieve the same goals but each path is different.

It is because of this difference that we each create a learning portfolio to showcase our growth and achievement in the SWAGs.

Ninth graders will write and perform a 2 minute speech at the end of fourth term where they will reflect on the year and include a reflection on their individual growth or achievement in one of the school wide achievement goals.
