Senior Portfolio
As part of your graduation requirements you have the opportunity to create a senior portfolio. Your portfolio is your opportunity to “show your stuff” and create a document that represents your history as a high school learner. Forget the infamous school “permanent record”—your portfolio is a real permanent record that allows YOU to tell your story.
What to include in your portfolio (required):
Integration and application of knowledge in civic, social and personal contexts
-Create a representation of your internship experience so as to demonstrate your experience and learning in words and pictures.
-Create a representation of your senior research project so as to demonstrate your research and learning in words and pictures.
-Essential letters or documents (admissions, scholarships, recommendations, etc.)
NOTE: Please type all written pieces, use page protectors for all documents and create a portfolio that reflects your strengths and individuality. A beautiful custom binder to display your portfolio contents is a gift to you from AMES.
What to include in your portfolio (required):
- Table of contents (do this last)
- Introduction (this is an introduction to your portfolio that explains what it is and why you created it)
- Brief biography (your life story—no more than one typed page)
- Updated resume
- Copy of your transcript from AMES (will be provided)
- A written reflection on a quotation or poem that resonates with you, along with a copy of the quotation or poem
- Select a memory from your time at AMES and expand it in writing so all of us can appreciate it as you did
- Select at least one piece of writing or a project that you completed to serve as evidence of your learning in each of the following areas, and include it or a representation of it in your portfolio, along with a written introduction or explanation:
- Effective communication
