APPLICATION DUE APRIL SAME CAMPS The Society of American Military Engineers offers a very unique series of engineering camps designed for High School students who excel in math, science and technical courses and are interested in pursuing engineering in college. These one–week camps are high energy, hands–on events for students from across the country and around the world. The camps are led by a professional staff of engineers from both private industry and the military services.

APPLICATION DUE MAY 25, 2012 Summer Academy in Applied Science & Technology 2012 (SSAST) 
University of Pennsylvania – Philadelphia, PA July 8 – 27, 2012
This is unique program for a selective group of high school students to experience rigorous and challenging college-level coursework.  The three week Summer Academy in Applied Science & Technology combines sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in cutting-edge technologies.  Students can earn college credit in each of our five programs:  Biotechnology, Computer Graphics, computer Science, Nanotechnology, and Robotics.  Financial aid to attend SAAST is available, and they are committed to making it possible for highly qualified students to attend, regardless of their family income.  Application and more information at www.seas.upenn.edu/saast

For female students grade 9 – 12 who enjoy math and science. HI GEAR may have a residential component this year but that will not be confirmed until April.

APPLICATION DUE JUNE 15- U OF U EXPLORING ENGINEERING CAMP FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (AGE 14-18) JUNE 26-28, 2012  
This 3-day summer camp experience will give participants an exposure to technologies and activities that encourage the use of problem-solving skills. Students’ will enjoy experiences in Chemical, Electrical, Civil and Environmental, Computer, Mechanical, Materials, and Bioengineering as they get a chance to “try on engineering” and see if it could be a good fit for them!   $60 (lunch is included for all three days)

2012 USU Biotechnology Summer Academy, July 9-July 13, 2012
This summer, discover that the answers to some of the really big questions in science will come from biotechnology. The 12th Annual Biotechnology Summer Academy is a 5-day interactive workshop for students to become immersed in ongoing biotechnology projects at Utah State University. Housing and meals for the 5-day program are provided in USU residence halls with counselors. Fun group activities, like barbeques, swimming, and miniature golf are planned for each evening. Students are selected based on their GPA, their interest in science, and their grade level. Registration is $200 and includes housing, meals, and materials. June 13 - July 29, 2011 (variety of week-long sessions) U of U GREAT Summer Camps (Elementary, Junior High and High School)The GREAT summer camps are aimed at kids who want to unleash their creativity while learning about computer graphics, robotics and programming by making games, animations and robots.
